Held in Bondi this week is Ocean Lovers Festival, an annual celebration of Ideas, Art, Music and Actions, showcasing some of the latest innovations, science, state-of-the-art technology and cool ideas for helping the oceans. Staged at Sydney's iconic Bondi Beach, the Ocean Lovers Festival provides 6 days of free entertainment and events. Be inspired and entertained with art, films, music, food, talks, stalls, workshops and more.
There will be a wide variety of inspirational talks by leaders and luminaries, scientists, innovators and business future leaders focused on solutions to better protect our oceans promoting a hopeful and inspiring view for the future. Held on the 21st and 22nd of March in Bondi Pavilion between 10am - 4pm at the Sunshine Stage and The Ocean Lab.
Beachgoers can hear from scientists and join free science workshops for kids and adults provided by Fizzics Education and supported by Inspiring Australia. You can catch music, art, innovative technology, sustainability solutions and top research scientists sharing marine science and sustainability knowledge and learn about things we can be doing on every day that have a direct impact on the health of our oceans.
Whether it’s switching out plastic items for more sustainable counterparts, learning about the benefits of crayweed forests and Living Seawall Tiles, or participating in a Big Bondi Beach Clean, Ocean Lovers Festival offers a myriad of ways to connect with marine science, ocean ecology and innovative solutions to climate adaptation and mitigation.
There will be live music on the solar powered Sunshine Stage and will feature legendary ocean lover and festival veteran Declan Kelly, ethereal newcomers Erthlings and Ocean angel Jane Walker and her band, World Champion and Chasing Giants from 1pm Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22 in the Festival Hub.
At the Festival hub you will find a curated showcase of innovative products and projects that don’t cost the earth and are designed to specifically help protect or enhance our ocean environment and wildlife. A particular focus is on products that recycle, reuse or reduce plastic waste getting into our oceans.
